Control will definitely have good game in the post-rotation meta. Here is one probable deck that I can forsee entering the fray.
Trenches 2K6
4 Adarkar Wastes 2 Battlefield Forge 4 Flooded Strand 7 Island 3 Plains 3 Mountain 4 Shivan Reef 3 Absorb 4 Counterspell 3 Fact or Fiction 4 Fire/Ice 3 Goblin Trenches 3 Isochron Scepter 4 Memory Lapse 2 Prophetic Bolt 3 Repulse 2 Wrath of God 2 Decree of Justice
SB: 4 Orim's Chant 3 Flametongue Kavu 2 Wrath of God 1 Lightning Angel 3 Meddling Mage 2 Exalted Angel

not insulting it in any way, it's interesting. i'd just like clarification, because it looks cool.

don't you think meloku is like a creature version of trenches? wouldn't he be a worthy inclusion?

Trenches would be even sweeter if you included Crucible of Worlds. think about it, saccing land, playing it back, then playing game breaking.........wow that deck could be busted

I have been thinking of adding 2 Crucible in place of the Prophetic Bolts. Yes, it would be quite busted. I can also see Cunning wish coming into the MD. This deck is still in the baby stage.
Meloku is more vulnerable, but I can see adding one copy. It is a creature version of trenches in a way, but with Trenches, you get 2 creatures for one land.
Jameson, the idea is to control the board with counters and Wrath until you can make lots of Goblins w/ Trenches or lots of soldiers with Decree....swing for the fences.
