There are four uncommon guildmages in Ravnica, each with two power, two toughness, two activated abilities, and two mana cost. Their borders are gold but they can be played using mana of only one colour. One has a Reach Through Mists and a Pain. Another has a Malevolent Awakening and a Battlegrowth. The third is an Elf Wizard, and the last doesn't have blue in its cost.
Assuming it's true, I'm super excited because not only is this early info, but it looks like it confirms the "guild mana" theory we summarized in the "logo and symbol" thread. Here's a quote from that post:
"Guild mana". This idea was brought up early in the thread and has been expanded upon by several members. Such guild spells would be playable using any combination of the guild's two colours. The mana symbols printed on the card would either be half and half symbols (for example, half a skull and half a tree) or would be replaced by that guild's insignia. Spells using "guild mana" can only have abilities that belong to both colours. They count as gold spells no matter what mana combination you pay when you play them.
We've theorized a lot of different ways that guilds can "reward a player for playing colour-pairs", as the promotional material said, so I guess it's not surprising we got one somewhat right!
